For some, they're a frequent catch. For others it's once in a lifetime. Don't let the
memory pass you by - get a replica.

Capture the moment - forever
You've been fishing for years. You've been casting for hours. You've drowned bait after
bait after bait for no more than dog sharks and eagle rays. The eskies empty and the bank

account is looking sick from all the trips you've done. The reel ticks over and suddenly takes
off. You're on your own so you cast an eye for the landing net, check, it's time to grab the rod.
15 minutes in and you can see colour. You can feel the thumps at the end of the line and you
know this is a big fish. At the side of the boat the monster lays.
You reach for the landing net and with your heart thumping in your chest and your muscles

you slide the net under the red and haul it aboard. On the
scales it's 13.2kg and it's clearly the biggest fish you've ever caught.
There's no camera and you're on your own - who would ever believe you. If it's filleted it
won't be seen ever again - it's a precious moment lost and the memory will fade (even if the
fish grows even bigger as the tale is told over and over to your unbelieving mates!).
All is not lost because with care from this point, you can get a cast done and get this fish
mounted on the wall in all it's living glory. From hard won freshwater trophy fish to hard
punching salt water fish, South Oz Rods can make the memory last forever. They can even
do big crays, monster yabbies, giant crabs and the gorgeous blue swimmers, most crustaceans
are mounted to boards so they can sit on the side cupboard too.
To make sure those catches are preserved for casting, simply keep one side of the fish
gaff free, mark free and above all keep the fish flat. When it gets home to the freezer, keep it flat
and protect the side that you want as the mold. Look after the fins too if at all possible. Give
Rob a call, let him know what you're after and he'll offer the best advice from there...
You'll know it's good when your mates pop 'round with the fishing rods and try to hook the thing
a second time!
